Experience in Practice
These examples show how our work moves from ambition into practical delivery across impact investment, innovation, partnership and commercial governance.
Developing Impact Investment at Macmillan
Tanya led the strategic direction of Macmillan Cancer Support’s pioneering Innovation Impact Investment Portfolio, closing multiple investments totalling approximately £2 million. The pilot subsequently grew to £3.5 million across eight cancer-care ventures and provided the foundation for Macmillan Ventures’ planned £30 million fund. Tanya continues to contribute to its direction as a member of the Investment Committee.
Establishing the Impact Case for a European Paediatric Health Venture
We supported a European paediatric cardiology venture to develop its impact framework, clarify its value proposition and develop the impact activities and metrics needed to evidence its potential. This work also supported the organisation’s successful application to a specialist cardiovascular medical technology accelerator programme in the United States.
Strengthening Commercial Governance at The PDSA
At The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, we co-led a commercial transformation programme across a multi-million-pound spend portfolio, redesigning procurement governance, strengthening supplier management and introducing proportionate controls that improved assurance and organisational capability. The work spanned the organisation, with particular emphasis on Veterinary Services and Estates Management.
Advising a Major UK Charity on Impact Investment Readiness
Tanya advised another major UK charity as it explored impact investment as an additional route to delivering its mission. Drawing on first-hand experience of establishing a charity impact investment programme, she provided practical insights and recommendations on organisational readiness, governance, due diligence, capacity and stakeholder engagement.
